Acting and me don't go hand in hand, but I can always give it a try. ;)
I was always interested in watching plays and stage shows of any kind; be it proscenium, dance, sangeet sandhya or anything. Was just thinking how would it be giving it a try and to see the other side of the hedge too. The interest developed in December when I had nothing to do but dream of things and crazy ideas. I also started watching saas-bahu serials alongwith mom and looked at them from an actor's angle. Its amazing, after watching a few episodes you can actually predict the next dialogue coming up. The best part is when the same dialogue is repeated three times, and the photographer uses a zooming effect. It's funny!
So I practiced a few monologues (that was a secret), and made a few videos also. My first performance was in front of my brother where I started randomly and was supposed to say the most common dialogues of Hindi serials "nahi yah nahi ho sakta. keh do yeh jhooth hain, yeh jhooth hain, yeh jhooth hain' . ouch! anyways, it was supposed to be serious one but my bro can't help laughing at it. :x
Next step, I joined DTG (DA-IICT Theatre Group). I was asked to do a very serious role. My first audition, just two lines, hardly 2 mins, no practice. The moment am done, the two script writers came up with "wow didi, what an acting!' As if this was easy for me to comprehend as I know what pathetic actress I am, the other one said that if I would have continued it for 2 more mins, he would have literally cried. hey, cried here is not in a sarcastic manner.
It was a bubble fame and the bubble burst the next day when I was not given that role.
I tried again, I was out.
I decided to quit, enough of all this.
Then came a third proposal without any audition, I was to be an ex-girlfriend. Seems interesting but it was hardly one page role. I didn't give up. Now in the same script am given a wife's role which is far better than a gf's role. I had my first practice session today. It was fun. :) Took me time to get in rhythm. Hope it works out well.. Good luck to me!
